SUCCESS STORY OF OUR PRETERM
We are overjoyed to announce that our first extreme preterm baby, Baby of Nithya Kanagaraj, has turned 1 year old! Born after 18 years of marriage, she came into the world as a tiny princess, weighing just 800 grams at 26 weeks of Gestational age. During her 3-month stay in the NICU, she faced numerous challenges, including feed intolerance, apnea, neonatal sepsis, and anemia. Despite these hurdles, she was eventually discharged home at a weight of 1.5 kg. Shortly after, she was readmitted for right upper lobe pneumonia, requiring IV antibiotics and supportive care. There was also a time when she needed a blood transfusion due to anemia. She continues to have regular follow-ups and is on necessary supplements. We are thrilled to share that she is now developmentally on track for her corrected age and weighs 7.1 kg!
